December 27: The J&K Degree College Principals in a press release expressed deep gratitude to Honorable Lt. Governor of J&K, Shri Manoj Sinha, Advisor to Hon’ble LG and Principal Secretary, Higher education for taking historical initiatives in the department

As per the press statement of college principals, during last three years, fresh initiatives have been introduced in the Department, ushering a new dawn of academic excellence, accountability and transparency.

Historical initiatives like infrastructural development, digitization of classrooms, e-

content, skill and faculty development programmes, establishment of research eco system (Hub and Spoke model) and focus on revamping sports infrastructure and other activities have been the hallmark steps taken by LG administration.

Further, UT of J&K has been at the forefront to implement the National Education

Policy-2020 under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble LG.

In Academic year 2022, Higher Education Department launched several digital initiatives such as 3-Tier Feedback System, E-Samarth, AEBAS, SPARROW Portal, EPM, HED

Transfer Portal, HRMS, etc, thereby strengthening the pillars of accountability and good governance The long pending demand of removing stop-gap arrangement of college principals was

fulfilled by selection/appointment of 105 Principals by J&K Public Service

Commission/Higher Education Department through transparent, smooth and time

bound process In this regard, the College Principals expressed their gratitude and acknowledgement to Hon’ble Chairman, JKPSC, Shri Satish Chandra, Hon’ble Member, Shri S. Athadul Mujtaba, Principal Secretary to Government, Higher Education, Shri Alok Kumar(IRS) and his team..
